Michael T Giansiracusa

Scientific Software Engineer

I am the DevSecOps team lead at the ARM Data Center, part of the Climate Change Science Institute in the Energy and Environmental Science Directorate. I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in math. My experience includes research with the USDA at the Carl Haden Bee Research Center in Tucson, AZ, and an internship with the Air Force Research Lab in Rome, NY, focusing on machine learning and image analysis.

In my current role, I lead the development and implementation of secure, efficient CI/CD pipelines, enhancing the deployment processes for Kubernetes and Cumulus HPC environments. I also mentor staff and interns in AI development, fostering a culture of innovation within our team. As the lead for Globus Connect server management, I oversee secure, high-throughput data transfers, optimizing data management processes within our organization. Additionally, I consult on the management and ongoing development of the ARM Data Retrievals system, ensuring efficient and reliable file delivery to our users.

My work continues to involve data reprocessing, software development, data management, infrastructure development, and data visualization, with a focus on driving operational excellence and scientific impact through innovative solutions.
