Post-doctoral Research Associate
Dr. Mi Li earned his doctorate in Wood Sciences from Auburn University in 2014 and his B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering (biomaterials science and engineering) from Northeast Forestry University in China in 2004 and 2009, respectively. After graduation with his PhD, Dr. Li joined in the Biosciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a post-doctoral research associate. He is currently and primarily working on lignocellulose (cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin) chemistry and characterization for BioEnergy Science Center (BESC) projects funded by U.S. DOE. His research interests are lignocelulose fractionation, chemical modification of biopolymers, and bioproducts/biomaterials development.
