Md Hasan Jawad Chowdhury is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Data NanoAnalytics Group at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His work centers on developing AI/ML methods for autonomous and human-in-the-loop experimental workflows to accelerate discovery in nanophase materials. He earned a Ph.D. from UNC Charlotte in 2024, focusing on causal discovery, explainable AI, and predictive modeling for complex scientific data. He has also industry experience through internships at Toyota Racing Development and Lowe’s Technology, in addition to several years of experience as a software engineer. His expertise spans causal AI, domain generalization, and physics-informed machine learning, with applications in computational chemistry and materials science.
