Mathieu Dupont has been at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since January 2020, in the Nuclear Criticality Group.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nuclear Engineering (December 2019) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master of Science degree in Physics specialty Nuclear Instrumentation and Engineering (October 2012) from the Université de Bordeaux, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics (May 2010) from the Université de Bordeaux.
After obtaining his Master's degree, he worked in the industry as a Radiation Measurement Engineer for Safe Technologies (FRANCE), where he developed radiation shielding and modeling skills.
A few years later, he decided to pursue a PhD degree in RPI where he acquired nuclear reactor theory knowledge and critical experiment design skills.
His primary work area in the Nuclear Criticality Group is SCALE team support in Criticality Safety and Shielding (primarily KENO and MAVRIC) and ICSBEP/IRPhEP/SINBAD benchmark experiment design, evaluation and review.
