Luis A Caicedo Torres

Postdoctoral Researcher- Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Analyst

Luis Caicedo Torres is a postdoctoral researcher in the Modern Nuclear Instrumentation and Control group. His research interests include mathematical analysis, computer vision, machine learning, and scientific instrumentation. His interests explore the blending of advanced mathematics, high-performance computing, and practical engineering to turn complex pipelines into reliable, deployable tools. He has applied these ideas to multi camera 3D segmentation, tracking, and reconstructions as well as anomaly detection for accelerator driven systems at the Spallation Neutron Source.

Luis is passionate about clean system design, visualization, and making sophisticated technical workflows understandable, reproducible, and impactful across research and applied engineering domains.

Dr. Caicedo Torres received his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2024 from Florida International University, where he specialized in the study of quantum systems through his work on Fractional-in-Time Schrödinger Equations.
