Dr. Laura-Roxana Stingaciu earned her Ph.D. in Natural Sciences from RWTH Aachen University in Germany, in 2010, before accepting a postdoctoral position at Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, in Jülich, Germany. She joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2012 as a member of the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science - Outstation to SNS as Instrument Scientist for the Neutron Spin Echo spectrometer and exchange visitor scientist in the Biology and Soft Matter Division. In 2017, Dr. Stingaciu transitioned to ORNL staff scientist. The focus of her research is application of scattering methods in biophysics and structural biology to study structure and dynamics of proteins with relevant importance to human health, of bio-membranes and photosynthetic membranes.
