
Bio
Julie LaRocco-Thompson is a talented Senior Administrative Assistant with a strong skill set supporting multiple departments at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). In the fall of 2023, she started her career within the Office of Administrative Services (OAS), where she quickly established herself as an effective and a valuable team member. Julie started working for Jeff Cornett, the Manager of Industrial and Economical Development in Partnerships. Once that OAS job was finished, she transitioned into a special project still working for Jeff on the RevV! Tennessee Manufacturing Innovation Program for a couple of months. Then, Julie started working on another special project for Susan Ochs, the Engagements Program Manager in Technology Transfer, working on Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDAs) and Material Transfer Agreement (MTAs) processing into Anaqua.
Once it was discovered her excellent organizational and administrative expertise, Julie moved into the Partnerships Directorate as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Director of Partnerships, Mike Paulus. She is crucial to detail and makes the Partnerships office run smoothly and organized. Julie has expertise in many different areas such as in computer skills, communication skills, and administrative skills which are extremely important to step in and keep the organization running effectively and efficiency. This is the currently where she is using her extensive administrative experience and dedication to organizational efficiency to support the directorate's strategic goals.
Professional Experience
Her previous experience includes serving as the Comptroller at U.S. Department of Navy, Naval Air Systems/Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAVAIR/NAWCAD) at the Test Pilot School at Patuxent River Maryland. She was responsible for the ~$53M budget for the Test Pilot School and was employed there for thirteen years at NAVAIR/NAWCAD.
Julie's other experience includes supporting CoorsTek as the Business Support Executive in Financial, Internal Auditing, and Document Control for ten years. In addition, she worked for Oak Ridge Associated Universities/Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORAU/ORISE) as Administrative Assistant for seven and half years.

Coupled with her education and her extensive experience, Julie has extensive experience in Office Administration, Financial Management, Auditing, and Document Control areas.
