Bio
Dr. Jane Ngozi Agwara obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester, New York. She previously earned an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the same institution and a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. Passionate about decarbonization, her PhD research focused on developing heterogeneous catalysts for converting carbon dioxide (CO2) into fuels and chemicals as a pathway for utilizing CO2 and reducing the negative climatic impacts of CO2 emissions. During her PhD, she also gained valuable experience contributing to the Low-Carbon Resources Initiative (LCRI) section of Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Palo Alto, California, working part-time as a Decarbonization Research Student employee. At ORNL, Dr. Jane is a Postdoctoral Research Associate - Heterogeneous Catalysis in the Chemical Process Scale Up Group, Energy Science and Technology Directorate. Her research interests center on advancing R&D in Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) through catalyst development and scale-up, chemical process development and scale-up, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA).
