Bio
Greg has a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Previously, Greg was a Research Assistant NDA Systems Scientist in the Nondestructive Measurement Science and Technology Group here at ORNL. He has worked on a diverse set of safeguards issues involving advanced nuclear reactors but has primarily focused on molten salt reactor (MSR) system-level safeguards detection methods.
In his spare time, Greg enjoys tinkering with computers, servers, and 3D printers.
Professional Experience
Greg has developed an analysis suite for TRANSFORM specifically for the MSDR and is expanding to include MCNP and SCALE. Using the above tool, Greg has tracked fission products through the MSDR as well as applied the fission product tracking to other designs. In addition, Greg has provided several IdentiFINDER trainings with INSEP partners for various NDA safeguards applications.
