Bio

Frank Riley is the Group Lead for Target Production and Infrastructure Development located inside Radioisotope R&D Section within the Radioisotope Science and Technology Division. The group responsibilities include fabrication of experiments/targets for isotope production for Cf252 and Pu238 programs and upgrade/replace aging remote operations equipment and design novel equipment leveraging ADM across the division's hot cells, caves, and glove boxes. 

Mr. Riley joined ORNL in 1988 where the focal point of his career at ORNL principally involves isotope production, and materials irradiation testing within the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR). The environment to perform such tasks for more than thirty years required working (at both hot cells and glove boxes) in a Category II Nuclear Facility, which requires a native, working understanding of conduct of operations, various safety requirements that govern operation, safety analysis reports for the operations facility, as well as, experiment requirements to satisfy reactor specifications with quality rigor bound by NQA-1. He received his B.S. degree in Organizational Leadership and Human Behavior from Tennessee Tech University and A.A.S. in Chemical Engineering Technology from Northeast State Community College.
