Feng Ye is the lead instrument scientist for CORELLI, the single crystal diffuse scattering diffractometer at the Spallation Neutron Source. He joined ORNL in 2003 as a post-doctoral fellow, working at the High Flux Isotope Reactor, and became a staff member at the SNS since 2008. He is responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the Corelli beamline. He has co-authored over 130 scientific papers. He is a frequent reviewer for scientific journals and beamtime proposals.  He is also an active member of the American Physics Society, American Crystallographic Association.

Research interests

Dr. Ye's research interests explore the interplay of the structure and magnetism in strongly correlated electron systems including multiferroics, superconductors, frustrated magnetic materials, and spin-orbit coupled systems. He employs diffraction and inelastic scattering methods and is interested in developing complex sample environments for scattering studies.
