Bio
Ethan is a HPC Storage Engineer and a new member to the storage Scratch team, which specializes in performant and reliable Lustre and GPFS filesystems.
Prior to Oak Ridge, Ethan was a student at Michigan Technological University, located in Michigan's scenic Upper Peninsula. Having survived the harsh winters, he graduated Spring 2023 with a B.S. in Computer Networking and Systems Administration and a minor in Cybersecurity.
During his time as a MTU student, Ethan acquired technical experience from IT-Service and System Administration roles. Various skills were obtained from these roles, notably IT infrastructure automation.
Since starting at the lab, Ethan has successfully deployed alpine2 - a 54PB GPFS filesystem being used for Summit's 6th year of service.
Outside of the lab, Ethan enjoys weightlifting and training Jiu Jitsu. Other hobbies include building water-cooled PCs, automotive detailing, and exploring the outdoors with his wife.
