Bio
Dr. Cassandra McGee Stuart is Manager, Small Business and Supplier Enablement in the Contracts Division. She previously managed the Strategy and Performance team, which includes the Small Business Programs Office, the catalogs e-purchase program, integrated contractor purchases, as well as the Laboratory’s subcontracts with UTK. She often leads strategic initiatives for the Contracts division and Business Services directorate Stuart has received the DOE Small Business Program Manager of the Year Award and has led the laboratory’s efforts in winning several small business awards.
Stuart formerly worked in broadcast news as an anchor, reporter, and network producer. She has also held positions in public relations and government relations, as well as leadership roles in business development and owned a small consulting business. Stuart is a graduate of Leadership Knoxville and Leadership Oak Ridge, and serves on boards of directors for Legacy Parks, the Emerald Youth Foundation, and the Girl Scouts of the Appalachians. She served on the Knox County Election Commission for 15 years. She holds a Doctorate in business administration from Lincoln Memorial University, a master’s in management from Colorado State University, and a B.S. in communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is married to Phil Stuart, and between them they have four grown children and seven grandchildren.
