Bozeman Professional Headshot 2024

Bryan Bozeman

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. Bryan Bozeman is a postdoctoral researcher in the Environmental Sciences Division at ORNL. He received his B.S. in Honors Geology and Environmental Studies from the University of Tennessee in 2014, his M.S. in Forest Resources and Fisheries from the University of Georgia in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Integrative Conservation and Forestry and Natural Resources from the University of Georgia in 2022. At ORNL, he works on a variety of projects related to the relationship between hydropower operation and infrastructure, flow, and fish. His current projects include assessing the impact of flexible hydropower production on flow variability and riverine fishes, developing the National Hydropower Fish Passage Database, assembling data resources that characterize existing and potential hydropower capacity and freshwater biodiversity in watersheds across the US, and generating high-resolution imagery of river channels using innovative, low-cost technology. Collectively, his work seeks to inform hydropower development and operation strategies that simultaneously benefit humans and the environment.
