Bio
Dr. Bryan Bozeman is a Fisheries Ecologist in the Environmental Sciences Division at ORNL. He received his B.S. in Honors Geology and Environmental Studies from the University of Tennessee in 2014, his M.S. in Forest Resources and Fisheries from the University of Georgia in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Integrative Conservation and Forestry and Natural Resources from the University of Georgia in 2022. Prior to joining ORNL as a staff scientist, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health Group from 2022 through 2025.
In his current position, he works on a variety of projects related to the effects of hydropower operation and infrastructure on fish and flow in rivers. This work includes quantifying the impacts of flexible hydropower operation on flow regimes; assembling data resources that characterize fish passage at hydropower projects; quantifying freshwater biodiversity in the context of the US hydropower fleet; and leveraging remote sensing techniques to generate high resolution underwater imagery. Collectively, his work seeks to inform hydropower development and operation strategies that simultaneously benefit humans and the environment.
