Bio
Brian Etz is a Research Scientist and Integrated Research Infrastructure (IRI) Liaison in the Workflows and Ecosystem Services (WES) group in the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Brian earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Susquehanna University in 2015 and Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from Colorado School of Mines in 2020. His research background spans many scientific domains such as biomimetic photocatalysts, combustion of biofuels, and nuclear waste processing, among others, while using a combination of experimental and computational techniques.
Prior to joining ORNL in 2024, he participated as an ORISE postdoctoral fellow at the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center applying computational chemistry to study environmental contaminants and remediation technologies.
