April J. Miller joined ORNL in 2022 as an associate radiochemical laboratory technician. In this position, she prepares chemical solutions and chromatography columns; sets up and maintains chemical processing equipment; operates equipment for chemical separations; and assists other technical staff and senior technicians with day-to-day operations.
April was involved in the production of Pm-147 through specific separations. In September 2022, 26.1 Ci of Pm-147 were produced, with another 25Ci expected by year's end.
April is rated above average in glovebox operations. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in chemical engineering technologies from Roane State Community College.
