Huixin Jiang (Anna)

Research Staff – Advanced Materials for Building Technologies

Huixin Jiang (Anna) is a research staff member in the Buildings and Transportation Science Division (BTSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Her research focuses on materials development and processing for high-performance building technologies, supporting improvements in indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency, and overall building performance.

Her work centers on the design, integration, and evaluation of advanced material systems for building applications, including functional coatings for heat exchangers and air filtration systems. She advances energy-saving building technologies through materials synthesis and processing, enabling functional coatings and the development of metal–organic frameworks and desiccant materials with improved performance, durability, and scalability in building-relevant environments. She brings prior experience in carbon-based and advanced conductive materials and applies multiscale characterization strategies to assess chemical, structural, surface, and thermal properties, supporting data-driven decision-making in materials development.

Jiang represented Oak Ridge National Laboratory at the National Lab Research SLAM at the U.S. Congress in 2025 and received first place in ORNL’s “Your Science in a Nutshell” competition. She served as President of the Oak Ridge Postdoctoral Association Executive Committee (ORPEX) in FY24 and is a member of the American Chemical Society.
