Ahmed A Hassen

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Ahmed Arabi Hassen is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and serve as the Chair of the Oak Ridge section of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and the ASNT Regional Director for Region 6 (Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee).  His research work focuses on the development and characterization of fiber reinforced materials for Additive Manufacturing (AM) extrusion deposition processes. Dr. Hassen’s current focus is on the development of AM tools for composite manufacturing industry. Dr. Hassen has a wide experience on different composite material fabrication methods including compression molding, long fiber thermoplastic, injection molding, vacuum forming, and thermoplastic pultrusion to name a few. In addition, he has a broad experience in the field of composite characterization using destructive and nondestructive evaluation techniques such as ultrasonic testing and X-ray techniques.
