Abstract

During my time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the majority of my work in the laboratory has been with three experiment systems designed to understand and quantify loading characteristics of iodine and other volatile off-gases onto different media. One of the experimental setups is an aging apparatus for silver mordenite. The next experimental setup is used to measure the loading of iodine or methyl iodide onto various sorbent media in a thin-bed or monolayer configuration. A third experimental apparatus has been used to determine the absorption and desorption of water onto type 3A molecular sieve.
