ORNL One Story Flexible Research Platform Test Building Air Leakage Study

Abstract

This report summarizes an air leakage investigation on a conventional one story metal building. The building air leakage was assessed using blower door testing, infrared thermography and smoke pens. The baseline building leakage was assessed, then various low cost measures were installed to reduce leakage. Air leakage was assessed incrementally as the different measures were installed on the building. The building air leakage was also assessed several months after retrofit to determine whether the improved performance was sustained.
