Abstract

The Host Information Value Engine (HIVE) is a means for automatically quantifying the information value of hosts in a network. HIVE is built on an intelligent software agent-based architecture and provides the control for deploying agents to computer hosts, scanning the documents on that host, and providing a numeric score for each host based on the raw text contents of those documents. HIVE aggregates these scores and presents them to an operator through an intuitive web-based interface. In addition, the HIVE scores are accessible through a web service.
