Algorithms and Performance Analysis

The Algorithms and Performance Analysis Group, an integral component of the Science Engagement Section, plays a pivotal role in collaborating with users of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and data analytics resources. Our primary focus is on driving algorithmic and performance improvements, while also characterizing both application performance and the specific requirements of various applications. This detailed analysis is essential for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of computational resources.

The Science Engagement Section has a dedicated mission to assist NCCS users by connecting them with specialists in scientific domains and computational methodologies. This partnership is designed to facilitate optimal scientific outcomes from the extensive range of computational resources and advanced systems available at the center. Our collaborative efforts ensure that researchers can leverage these resources effectively to enhance their scientific inquiries.

The members of our section comprise a diverse team of experts with deep knowledge across multiple disciplines. This includes specialists in chemical and materials sciences, who explore fundamental properties of substances and their applications; nuclear physics experts, focusing on areas such as nuclear structure and quantum chromodynamics; high-energy physicists engaged in particle physics investigations; and astrophysics professionals studying stellar evolution and cosmology. Our expertise extends further into critical fields such as climate science, geophysics, and various branches of biology and biomedical sciences, as well as engineering applications.
