Vickey Luckadoo serves as a Group Administrative Assistant in the Research Reactors Division of ORNL’s Neutron Sciences Directorate. In this role, she provides comprehensive administrative support to Section Leadership and helps ensure technical teams remain focused on reactor operations, research activities, and mission delivery. With more than 34 years of administrative experience, she brings deep expertise in office management along with extensive knowledge of ORNL policies, procedures, and systems.
Ms. Luckadoo joined ORNL in February 2010 as a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Computing and Computational Sciences Division. She later spent eight years in the Information Technology Services Division, where she expanded her skills in organizational support, cross-functional coordination, and enterprise operations. In 2019, she transitioned to the Nuclear Analytical Chemistry Section within the Chemical Sciences Division of the Physical Sciences Directorate, supporting Section Leadership by coordinating specialized visitor badging, managing chemical and high-value equipment procurements, and handling complex travel logistics to keep regulatory and research workflows operating seamlessly.
Before joining ORNL, Ms. Luckadoo served in the Missouri Air National Guard from 1986 to 1997. After a 16-year break in service, she returned to military duty at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, serving from 2013 to 2023. She retired in May 2023 with the rank of Master Sergeant, concluding more than 20 years of honorable and dedicated military service.
