Bio
I am a Nuclear Safety Analyst at the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR). I am currently the primary safety analyst for the Cold Neutron Source, as well as the Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) coordinator. I am also involved in transient/accident analysis (RELAP) at the HFIR.
Before coming to ORNL, I was a Loss-of-Coolant Accident (LOCA) engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA.
I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. My Ph.D. research involved atomistic simulations (using classical molecular dynamics) of radiation damage and disorder in silicon carbide, which is a potential accident-tolerant fuel cladding material in nuclear reactors.
