Victor Fung

Distinguished Staff Fellow

Dr. Victor Fung is a Eugene P. Wigner Fellow working in the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS). He obtained his BA in Chemistry from Cornell University and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside. His research involves the study of surface and catalytic properties using first principles techniques such as density functional theory. To accomplish this, his key efforts include the developing fundamental physicochemical descriptors of chemical properties, high-throughput materials screening and machine learning predictions for rational materials design. Specific topics of his research include the capture and conversion of methane, heterogeneous C-H functionalization, and the structure/property prediction of nanomaterials.
