Alex A Franklin

Platform Engineer

Alex is a Kubernetes Platform Engineer within the NCCS Infrastructure and Platforms Team. For 14 years, Alex taught Tae Kwon Do and participated in global demos for the International Sports Federation before returning to school in 2005. Alex graduated in 2008 from Pellissippi State with an Associates of Applied Science in Interior Design specializing in Corporate Design, Sustainable Design, and 3D modeling. Due to the economic downturn into which he graduated, he turned his IT hobby into a career, teaching himself Windows, Mac, and Linux administration. Prior to joining the lab, Alex spent time in IT for television and healthcare.

Besides being a Home Lab enthusiast, Alex enjoys traveling, photography/videography, video editing, writing, reading, listening to old radio shows, and coffee. Alex spends most of his free time finding new adventures with his three year old pittie, Brom, or cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.
