Luke R Scime

R&D Associate Staff Scientist

Dr. Luke Scime is an Associate Staff Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and a member of the Digital Platform team for the Transformational Challenge Reactor program. He joined the laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher in the Imaging, Signals, & Machine Learning Group in 2018 after completing his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on machine learning, data analytics, and in-situ process monitoring for additive manufacturing technologies. Dr. Scime also volunteers extensively with the FIRST robotics program which seeks to engage elementary through high school students in STEM.
