Kris K Gaines
Kris Gaines is an Engineer and Project Manager at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division where he has been employed since 2010. Kris currently serves as the Program Manager for DOE's Russian-Origin Removal Program. He is responsible for overseeing the removal or security of highly enriched uranium fuel at former Soviet and Chinese-supplied research reactors to reduce the nuclear proliferation threat they pose. Over his career, he has also provided engineering and project management expertise to various foreign nuclear security projects including teaching foreign partners how to effectively utilize project management tools, such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), which led to the first Russian project to finish on time and within budget.
