Bio
Kevin Zinn is a Technical Staff at ORNL with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee. Kevin's main area of expertise is Product Design Development with over 25 years of experience in bringing products to market through additive manufacturing, testing, and focusing on end-use customer engagement. He has experience with additive design and quality support for additive (for builds and external companies). Kevin currently works at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) in the Disruptive Manufacturing Systems Development Group. Kevin spends most of his time in design of products and systems which utilize additive technology, furthering the knowledge base of ORNL and continuing to push the envelope of AM technology to enhance manufacturing capabilities in the US. Kevin's prior engineering work involved 11 years of Product Development design in automotive manufacturing and qualification/process improvement and 15 years of mechanical design/development/support for the consumer electronics industry. He enjoys continuous improvement and constantly learning to improve efficiency and eagerly seeks to contribute and deliver on challenging projects.
