Waste Operations Analyst - Transportation and Waste Management Division

Kaity is a Waste Operations Analyst at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), specializing in chemical and radiological characterizations and disposition. She is passionate about advancing progress in STEM fields while prioritizing safety and sustainability, aligning with the mission of ORNL's Transportation and Waste Management Division (TWMD).

With extensive experience in waste management, Kaity has held roles such as the Waste Services Representative (WSR) for the Radioactive Engineering Development Center (REDC) and the Radioactive Materials Analytical Laboratory (RMAL), as well as the Analytical Services Program Lead. These positions have provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the waste management lifecycle, from generation to disposition, and the associated financial responsibilities.

In addition to her technical expertise, Kaity is deeply committed to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals. During her tenure as a teacher at Loudon High School, she fostered a learning environment focused on nurturing curiosity, building confidence, and developing skills in young minds, while emphasizing the importance of caring for students as whole individuals. Kaity brings this same philosophy to her work at ORNL, believing in the value of supporting and empowering colleagues to thrive both professionally and personally.
