Bio
J.D. Rice joined ORNL in 2023 as a Development Project Engineer in the Enrichment Science and Engineering Division of the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate. He moved to a Research and Development WBS Manager position in early 2024. In this role, he performs dynamic testing and vibration analysis, and project management.
Prior to joining ORNL, J.D. was a lab analyst for OxyVinyls; lab lead and project manager for Chevron; and a senior research technician for ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, for which he served as an electronics technician, and for two years he owned a construction company, Rictin Construction LLC, in Texas.
J.D. holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Texas Southern University and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
He is a member of the Society of Experimental Mechanics.
