Professional Experience
Postdoctoral Researcher: Oak Ridge National Lab
September 2023- Present
As a Postdoctoral Researcher at ORNL, James specializes in studying Chiral Magnets using Polarized Neutron Scattering. James has a split appointment in the Neutron Scattering and Neutron Technologies divisions where he is mentored by Huibo Cai and Peter Jiang in each division, respectively.
Postdoctoral Researcher: McMaster University
January 2022- March 2023
At McMaster University, James used Neutron and X-ray diffraction to study Skyrmions and Iridate magnets while commissioning the C2 neutron powder diffractometer and assisting in the construction and development of the McMaster Small Angle Scattering (MacSANS) device.
