Erica Cole joined ORNL as a Radiochemical Laboratory Technician for the Ac-225 Production Team in 2022. Erica processed and dispensed radioisotopes for research and development purposes utilizing current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) at REDC. She supported and created four 5S projects, including training modules and project improvements, through continuous improvement initiatives in coordination with her Green Belt Certification. 

In 2024, Erica transitioned to a Radiochemical Technical Professional role in support of Ac-225 R&D efforts. Erica has advanced to producing Black Belt projects for Ac-225 development. Her focus remains on supporting the advancement of therapeutic medical radioisotope research to create successful alternatives for cancer treatments.

Erica previously worked at ORNL supporting Curium Target Fabrication and Ni-63. She has experience as a Quality Control Chemist and an Analytical Laboratory Technician with over 15 years involvement in the nuclear industry. 

Originally from East Tennessee, Erica obtained an Associate of Science in General Studies from Northeast State Community College and a Bachelor of Science in History with a minor in Biology from East Tennessee State University. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Professional Studies with an emphasis in Leadership and Workforce Development through East Tennessee State University.

A dedicated volunteer, Erica and her family support local organizations with many hours focused on the 4-H organization. She enjoys time with her family, gardening, and writing.
