Bio
David Nuttall is a composites engineer with ORNL’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF). He facilities project development and task fulfilment for the Composites Innovation Group at the MDF, and serves as a project lead for Additive Manufacturing Compression Molding - AMCM, a newly developed technology and equipment set. His areas of expertise include: new product integration; design to market; product specification development; product analysis / warranty review; quality metrics for manufacturing; and statistical process control. Nuttall earned his Master’s in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and his B.S. in Aerospace & Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech. Nuttall serves as a mentor to summer interns in design concepts for composites manufacturing.
