Bio
David Bass is the Mission Management Software Group Leader for the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. David provides management and oversight on multiple software development projects, leading a group of talented teams and individuals who create software to serve ORNL, other national labs, and the Department of Energy (DOE).
David has been creating software solutions for over 25 years. His experience includes work in several industries, including radioactive material management, environmental emissions monitoring, machinery management, security, device communications and others. He has been involved in designing and developing web, desktop, and mobile applications built primarily using a Microsoft stack. His approach to building software has been molded by the different perspectives gained serving in various roles such as management, team leadership, architecture, development, support, quality assurance and technical writing. While at ORNL, his efforts have focused primarily on radioactive material management and nuclear detection and deterrence.
David earned his B.S. in Computer Science with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
