Bio
Dan leads and supports initiatives in various applied technology fields (such as energy storage, lightweight materials, and advanced manufacturing) focused on commercialization, economic development, and industrial partnerships. He joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory in January 2010 as an Associate in Industrial Partnerships and Economic Development. He also manages ORNL’s relationships with companies involved in the Oak Ridge Science & Technology Park and is actively recruiting additional companies to locate there. Prior to joining ORNL, Dan was a Licensing Associate in Rice University Office of Technology Transfer, where he managed the patent portfolio of the university’s physical science technologies. Previously, he spent five years as an engineer in the machine design industry. Dan holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. He received his MBA and MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee. While at UT, Dan also was an intern at ORNL in Technology Transfer. Dan is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and sits on the advisory board of the Fairview Technology Center.
