Chris Mitchell

Programming & Design Analyst

I’m a learning and development professional with a strong background in curriculum and instructional design, leading training sessions, and virtual production on platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams. I also have experience researching copyright status for multimedia used in training materials and several years of building interactive eLearning activities using Storyline 360.

Since 2018, I’ve worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where I design and deliver engaging, goal-aligned training experiences for both in-person and virtual audiences. My role blends instructional design, technical production, and facilitation. I regularly lead sessions, support other instructors, and collaborate during live delivery to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvements that enhance learning outcomes in real time.

I work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure every training solution is relevant, actionable, and aligned with organizational goals. Whether I’m developing full programs from the ground up or producing and facilitating virtual sessions, I focus on improving quality, engagement, and results, while ensuring responsible and effective use of content and tools.

Before joining ORNL, I spent 15 years as a professional educator, teaching both public school students and college learners. That classroom experience grounds my work and helps me design training that’s practical, inclusive, and learner-focused.

Additionally, working in fast-paced environments where I make many independent decisions quickly has strengthened my ability to manage projects effectively. This experience makes me a strong candidate for project management opportunities.
