Cassie L Scully

Mechanical Design Engineer

Cassie Scully is the Instrument Systems Engineer for NOMAD (BL1B), CORELLI (BL9), POWGEN (BL11A), MaNDi (BL11B), and TOPAZ (BL12). One of her favorite things to work on is system integration, and she values the relationships she’s developed with her colleagues through systems integration.

Cassie received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and has an M.S. in Engineering with a concentration in Systems Engineering from Purdue University. Cassie’s passion for research started when she received a position as an undergraduate researcher in the Robotics and Spatial Systems Laboratory, where she did research on industrial robots and helped develop a conceptual design for a novel hexapod robot that utilizes a spherical four bar mechanism for the legs.

Before joining ORNL in February 2020, Cassie worked at GE Transportation, GE Healthcare, and Otis Elevator. Cassie has spent her career focusing on new product design and system integration.
