Bio
Amy Byrd has over 30 years of project controls experience with a concentration in scheduling, earned value management system (EVMS), cost control, DOE project management procedures and practices, and reporting. Her current role is Project Management Group Leader for Neutron Sciences Division and Project Controls Manager for the Proton Power Upgrade (PPU) project. Additional responsibilities include providing project management support to the SNS VENUS instrument and other Accelerator Improvement Projects (AIPs).
She began her career in the Environmental Management program at East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP). Positions include Business Manager for the Technical Integration Project and Project Controls Manager for Program Integration. She joined the US ITER project in 2009 where project controls support was provided for ECH, ICH, Pellet Injection and Disruption Mitigation systems. She began supporting the PPU Project at SNS in 2018 and served as the Lead Scheduler/Lead Project Controls Analyst prior to current position.
