Bio
Dr. Aidan Josef Klemm received both his B.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. His research focus has been in the development of novel sorbent materials for CO2 capture from low-concentration feeds, such as spacecraft cabin air and atmospheric air. In 2023, he was awarded the DOE’s Office of Science Graduate Student Research Fellowship, which enabled him to complete part of his thesis research at ORNL, developing electromagnetically active CO2 sorbents for direct air capture. Returning to the Chemical Process Scale-Up Group in the Energy Science & Technology Directorate as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, Dr. Klemm is shifting focus to study catalysts for the conversion of CO2 to value-added materials, with an emphasis on engineering catalyst geometries for improved performance.
