Nestor elected STC associate fellow

Margaret Boone (Bonnie) Nestor of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has been elected an associate fellow of the Society for Technical Communication (STC).

Nestor began at ORNL in 1976 as a technical editor in the Fusion Energy Division, and she has been the manager of institutional planning in the Office of Planning and Special Projects since 1993. She received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Tennessee.

She received a Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation (LMER) Operations and Support Award in 1997 and a Lockheed Martin Energy Systems (LMES) Significant Event Award in 1995. Nestor is the author of several publications and has given many presentations on technical editing and communication.

Nestor is a senior member of STC. She is a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and the Oak Ridge Community Playhouse.

She and her husband, Charles Crume, live in Oak Ridge. She has two children, David and Laura Johnson.

ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation.
