Gu appointed to panel of National Science Foundation

Dr. Baohua Gu, a research scientist in the Environmental Sciences Division at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), was appointed to serve on a panel to select outstanding research proposals for environmental geochemistry and biogeochemistry.

The panel selects proposals for the Environmental Geochemistry and Biogeochemistry Program of the National Science Foundation. Each panel has 15 scientists who judge submissions by university faculty and researchers from other institutions and recommend grant awards for the outstanding proposals.

Gu received his doctorate from the University of California in soil and environmental chemistry. He and his wife, Xiangping Yin, live in Oak Ridge with their two children, Alice and Jessie.

ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corp.
