Graham appointed to federal committee

Dr. Robin L. Graham of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has been appointed to the California Spotted Owl Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

This federal advisory committee has been established to evaluate the preliminary revised draft environmental impact statement for managing the California spotted owl habitat. Graham's task is to make recommendations on how the environmental impact statement considers and integrates the information from the Sierra Nevada Ecosystem report.

Graham joined ORNL in 1986 and is a member of the research staff in the Environmental Sciences Division. She was specifically selected for her expertise in landscape ecology and regional assessments and her background in forest management.

She received a bachelor's degree in biology from Dartmouth College and holds a doctorate in forest ecology from Oregon State University.

Graham serves on the Farragut Advisory Council on the Environment. She is a member of the Biomass Energy Research Association and the Association for Women in Science.

She lives with her husband, Jack, in Farragut. They have two children, Ada and Catherine.

ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation.
