AEE certification was established to award special recognition to indoor air quality professionals who demonstrate a high level of competence and proper ethics in the area of indoor air quality management. The national certification encourages the individual to continue a program of professional development.
This award is in addition to honors that Allmond received as a registered sanitarian, certified environmental compliance manager, and as a certified ergonomic compliance director.
Allmond came to ORNL in 1994 and identified and initiated the first ORNL in-building cross- connection control program which helps to keep drinking water free of contaminants. He also developed a comprehensive drinking water surveillance program to protect the health of 6,000 personnel. In addition, he produced the training requirements and course curriculum to train food service personnel in food service sanitation. Allmond also manages the ergonomic and food sanitation drinking water programs.
He received his bachelor's degree in environmental health from East Tennessee State University, his master's in health care management from Central Michigan University, and received training from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College mid-level executive management program. Originally from Newport News, Va., Allmond resides in West Knoxville with his wife, April, and two children, Corrie and Jared.
