•A team comprised of staff from the Reactor and Nuclear Systems Division and the Research Reactors Division completed a set of six comprehensive calculation reports in FY 2016 to document high-fidelity neutronics models and analyses for High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) highly enriched uranium (HEU) and low enriched uranium (LEU) cores

•These HEU and LEU models are the most high-fidelity HFIR core models ever produced –Explicit representation of involute fuel plates and representative current irradiation experiment loading
–Analyses of relevant performance and safety metrics included

•These models provide basis for future analyses
–Accurate calculation of time-dependent performance metrics and detailed spatial and temporal heat deposition
–Consistent comparisons of  HEU and LEU core performance and an improved basis for assessing post-conversion effects
