Biocomputing and Information Section

Harnessing Advanced Computing and Data Science to Unlock the Complexity of Biological Systems

Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Biocomputing and Information Section combines advanced computing, data science and molecular-scale research to deepen understanding of complex biological systems. Its researchers develop computational models, high-performance simulations and predictive tools while improving how scientific data are integrated, communicated and accessed. Together, these capabilities accelerate discoveries in biology, biotechnology, energy and environmental science.

“ORNL is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between research and industrial application, not just by pushing the frontiers of knowledge but by making that science work where it matters most.”
