The ORNL Facilities and Operations (F&O) Trades Camp is a four-day experience for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in exploring skilled trades and technical careers at a national laboratory.
Participants tour ORNL facilities, meet skilled trades professionals, discuss career pathways, and take part in job-shadowing experiences that provide a firsthand look at the work required to support ORNL’s facilities and research mission. Scientific research at a national laboratory depends on a broad workforce with a wide range of technical skills. Trades Camp introduces students to the skilled professionals who help operate and maintain the facilities and infrastructure that make ORNL research possible.
Applications for Summer 2027 are expected to open in Spring 2027.
