Jennifer J. Burke

Jennifer Burke is a senior science writer and communications specialist for the Energy Science and Technology Directorate and covers buildings research within the Building Technologies Office and the Building Technologies Research and Integration Center. She also supports communications efforts in the Industrial Technologies Office, the Federal Energy Management Program, and the State and Community Energy Programs.

She is a native of East Tennessee and has worked in science and healthcare communications in the region for more than 30 years. Prior to joining ORNL, Jennifer led communications initiatives for healthcare systems and health insurance plans in the greater Knoxville area. She also supported communications for a startup energy company and a local publications relations firm focused on energy development in Tennessee.

Her writing and communications campaigns have been recognized with awards from the Public Relations Society of America and the Tennessee Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a degree in communications and public relations.
