Postdoctoral research associate
Shovon Mandal is a postdoctoral research associate in the Aquatic Ecology Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He specializes in nutrient (nitrogen) use and aquatic ecosystem productivity and his expertise range from plant physiology, ecology to biochemical engineering. He received his PhD in Agricultural Engineering, worked on algal biofuel production and wastewater recycling, from Indian Institute of Technology in 2011. He holds a BS in Life Science and MS in Botany from Visva-Bharati University, India. His postdoctoral work at UC San Diego & University of Michigan was involved with biodiversity and productivity in aquatic communities.
